Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against Hull City: Plot twist, but from the start

Morgan Rogers called Xabi Alonso’s halftime quadruple change on Wednesday the “plot twist”. As enjoyable as that was, if we just tell a good story from the start, we won’t need such a dramatic shift halfway through, right?

That’s certainly what the voters are hoping for, selecting the usual suspects in attack, midfield, and defense (with Levi Colwill preferred) for this afternoon’s game against Hull City. Six of the eleven starters got at least 90 per cent of the vote, with another two hovering around 80 per cent. and even the remaining three collected a solid majority, earning over 60 per cent of the vote.

So that’s pretty great consensus, especially so early on in the season and especially when we’re still searching for the right balance in the team.

Or perhaps we can just eschew all this balance nonsense, and win every game by the odd goals or two in seventeen. I’d be entertained.

3-4-3 / 3-4-2-1 (79%)
Martínez (95%) | Colwill (63%), Lacroix (96%), Acheampong (63%) | Hato (62%), Lavia (83%), James (91%), Neto (79%) | Rogers (98%), Palmer (98%) | João Pedro (99%)

Valentín Barco (43%), Wesley Fofana (43%), and Pep Chavarría (43%) all came close to earning a spot among the first-choice selection, but would fall just short. Estêvão (15%) and Malo Gusto (15%) were the only others to get into the double digits.
