Celtic’s 3-0 defeat to Rangers has understandably dominated the discussion since Sunday, but Martin O’Neill’s side still boast one of the few perfect league records across world football.
The Hoops produced a disappointing performance at Ibrox as they exited the Premier Sports Cup at the quarter-final stage, with O’Neill admitting afterwards how much the derby defeat hurt.
However, Celtic’s impressive start to their Premiership title defence has somewhat faded into the background amid the fallout.
Six league matches have produced six victories, meaning O’Neill’s side are yet to surrender a single Premiership point this season.
Statistics account TheStatsDontLie highlighted Celtic’s record on September 14 in a list of clubs across the world to have won every league fixture they had played, with a minimum of four matches required.
Celtic featured with a perfect record of six wins from six, alongside FC Porto and Heracles, who had also reached that mark.
Some of European football’s biggest clubs also appeared on the list, with Barcelona winning their opening five La Liga matches and Arsenal and Manchester City starting their respective league campaigns with four consecutive victories.
Hertha Berlin, Panathinaikos, Johor Darul Ta’zim and Pyramids were among the other clubs maintaining 100 per cent records.
