As the days march on towards the start of another college football season, the prognosticators are making their predictions for the upcoming year. Ohio State is looking to get back to the mountain top after falling short in 2025. The Buckeyes have the talent, but can they put it all together? At least one analyst believes Ryan Day‘s team is one of just three teams that will win it all.
Brad Crawford of CBS Sports has made 10 guarantees for the upcoming season, and one of them involves the Scarlet and Gray. Crawford has made a bold prediction that the national championship will once again come from the Big Ten. While he didn’t outright say the Buckeyes would hoist the trophy, he did say that one of three teams will take the hardware home. His bold guarantee? That either Ohio State, Oregon, or Indiana will be the kings of college football when the confetti settles.
“If someone offered me Oregon, Ohio State and Indiana against the field this fall, I’d confidently take that trio,” Crawford said. “Dan Lanning has the best roster he’s assembled at Oregon, while the Buckeyes may boast the nation’s most prolific quarterback-wide receiver combination. The Hoosiers need no introduction after what they accomplished under Curt Cignetti, who enters the season with a strong argument as the sport’s top coach.”
The Big Ten has reigned supreme in recent years, boasting the past three national champions in Michigan, Ohio State, and Indiana. Crawford seems to really like the Buckeyes’ chances once again this year. With this year’s schedule, if they raise the trophy, they will have certainly earned it.
