Tucker Palotas, whose 31-yard fumble return for a touchdown highlighted the Cathedral Prep football team’s season-opening victory, was one of two Ramblers who won the first trio of Erie Times-News Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine athlete of the week polls.
Palotas, with 49 votes, finished first among District 10’s football nominees. Fort LeBoeuf’s Aiden Struchen, with only five, was still second.

Prep’s other winner was Peyton Rodgers. The University of New Hampshire soccer recruit received seven votes to four for Fort LeBoeuf golfer Cassidy Conn for their one-two finish in the female athlete poll.
Seneca’s Josiah Zasada won the season’s first male athlete ballot. The soccer player for the Bobcats only received four votes, but they were enough for first.
