Rookie Carson Beck looked the part in his Hall of Fame game debut.
He completed 15-of-19 passes for 188 yards with a touchdown. He played into the third quarter after experiencing his first, shorter pro halftime.
“That was fun, being able to play football again,” Beck said, via Darren Urban of the Cardinals’ website.
Head coach Mike LaFleur noted Beck’s performance was what he’s been seeing from the young quarterback in practice. But it was still meaningful for Beck to make some plays against a live opponent.
“It feels great to go in and succeed and execute within the offense,” Beck said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “And, obviously, again, there’s going to be things to fix.
“You got to go watch the tape and there’s always so much room to improve, even just being a rookie, being a new guy and kind of getting my first taste of the league.”
Arizona will be on the road to play Las Vegas next Thursday night for Beck’s second bit of preseason action.
