The tennis world has desperately missed Carlos Alcaraz. He is scheduled to return next month at the Cincinnati Open, but that has been met with a healthy dose of skepticism because he has a wrist injury and those require a lot of time to heal.
Consider Juan Martin del Potro, Dominic Thiem, and Nick Kyrgios who suffered wrist injuries, and their careers were shortened and never the same.
That’s why fans nearly lost their collective minds when they saw the latest video released by Alcaraz.

Alcaraz is hitting forehands
He looks great, as we should expect, since he released the video.
There appears to be a bandage on the right wrist, but he is taking a lot of reps on it.

Fans need to take a breath
He is recovering, but practice swings in a controlled setting are not indicative of match play.
We cannot know how strong his wrist is and what it will be able to withstand with either daily practice and/or matches during the month of August.
That includes best-of-three set Cincinnati Open matches and best-of-five set US Open matches.
Hopefully Alcaraz is healthy enough to be competitive, and no further injury and setbacks occur.
He is the defending US Open champion. Even if he cannot go back-to-back, given the circumstances, watching him play for the first time in four months will be a treat.
