Just like last year, Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland has started out the season with little production. It was understandable his rookie year in 2025, since he was coming off an injury suffered in college, which limited his availability in training camp.
However, he is now in year two and was able to fully participate in training camp without any limitations. Loveland also finished off last season strong and ended up leading Chicago in receptions and receiving yards. Still, he only has 19 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown through six games. But, most of that production came against the Atlanta Falcons last week, including the touchdown.
Loveland’s slow start has been concerning given how big of a role he was expected to play in the offense. But quarterback Caleb Williams is not concerned as he is going to keep getting the ball to him.

Chicago’s Thursday night game against the New England Patriots is probably not when Loveland is going to have a breakout game since the Patriots have done well against tight ends this season. However, they play the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, and with how terrible Detroit has been against tight ends, this could be a breakout game for Loveland. Ideally, although, the Bears would like to see his production improve before then.
