The Milwaukee Bucks close a three-game, weeklong homestand tonight, Oct. 31, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Bucks beat Indiana on Oct. 26 and lost to Houston on Oct. 28 and are 1-4 on the season. Cleveland is 3-2 and is coming off a loss at Atlanta on Oct. 29.
Bucks seek resiliency after blowout loss
In the immediate aftermath of a 32-point loss to the Rockets, Bucks head coach Taylor Jenkins was terse, and displeased. He placed the blame for the showing on himself, simply saying he did not have the team prepared.
With an off day and a full practice on Oct. 30 to look back on it, Jenkins was asked what he looked back on that evening and if a few days of separation and film study matched up with what he was feeling immediately postgame.
“Yeah, I think a combination of a couple things,” Jenkins began. “I felt like we didn’t have the right morning. So that starts with me and the preparedness. Then as the game got going the integrity of our defense fell with our offense. I’m always going to be the first one to stand up front and go ‘how can I help these guys continue to get better offensively, find our rhythm?'”

Shots weren’t falling for Milwaukee in a brutal second quarter (6-for-24) but Jenkins pointed out how the Bucks weren’t getting into the paint to help generate either points (4-for-10) or create better shot opportunities with kickouts.
He said the emphasis in the 48 hours between games was defensive principles and a “great, intense practice” that he hopes carries over to the Cleveland game.
“That’s what turning the page means, you gotta turn the page by watching what you did wrong and apply it to the [next] game,” Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma said. “You can’t apply it two or three weeks from now like most young teams probably would. You gotta be able to do it on the fly. Sometimes you gotta be able to apply it from the first half to literally the second half. We did that, a little bit, but got right back to where we were. That’s what we did [at practice], coming in, watching some film and then had a really competitive practice.”
