The Bruins will open the new season at home when they host the Rangers on Tuesday night.
Boston is coming off a split preseason, going 2-2-0 through four exhibition games. Now, the Bruins will turn their attention to the games that count as they begin the 2026-27 season against a familiar Original Six rival.
Led by newly named captain David Pastrnak, the Bruins will have plenty of intrigue up front. Pastrnak could be joined by offseason addition JJ Peterka and Pavel Zacha on Boston’s top line, while young forwards James Hagens and Fraser Minten will be among the players to watch as the Bruins open the campaign.

10:39 p.m.: Another one! Mark Kastelic gets an empty netter to extend the lead.

10:37 p.m.: JJ Peterka scores, assisted by Elias Lindholm and Hampus Lindholm.

10:35 p.m.: Fraser Minten scores, assisted by Mason Lohrei! Boston is on the board with 3:46 remaning.
10:31 p.m.: Hagens attempted shot is blocked with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. Swayman and Shesterkin are having a good night in the net.
10:28 p.m.: Elias Lindholm misses a shot. Clifton’s shot is saved by Shesterkin.
10:25 p.m.: Still scoreless with 6:50 left in the 3rd. Both teams are getting feisty as the linemen break up some clusters.
10:20 p.m.: Rempe gets tangled up in a few Bruins after Swayman blocks a shot by Sean Durzi. The puck does get poked in after the whistle, but doesn’t count.
10:18 p.m.: Clifton lost his stick and proceeded down to defend the puck. It is a goalies game with Swayman making back-to-back stops.
10:12 p.m.: Rangers player lost their stick but remained out on defense.
10:08 p.m.: Connor Chifton’s shot is blocked by the goalie. Mason Lohrei shots the puck over the crossbar to freeze the puck.
10:03 p.m.: Period 3 is underway. Who will be the first to score?

9:44 p.m.: The clock hits zero and the guys will head to the locker room. This marks the first time these two teams have been scoreless through two periods in the last 33 games since March of 2017.
9:41 p.m.: Swayman smothers a shot from Eeli Tolvanen.
9:38 p.m.: Mark Kastelic gets pushy after the whistle. Pastrnak’s shot on goal is saved by Shesterkin.
9:34 p.m.: Rangers Joseph Veleno misses a shot followed by a rebound by Pettersson. His shot misses wide right.
9:28 p.m.: Zadorov and Rempe have to be separated by one of the linemen. Rempe was not happy with the hit.
9:24 p.m.: Pastrnak’s shot is saved by the Rangers’ goalie. Game is still scoreless with 9:53 left in the 2nd period.
9:19 p.m.: Six minutes without a whistle. Eleven since the Rangers have attempted a shot.
9:15 p.m.: Geekie’s shot bounces off the left post. Geekie misses three back-to-back takeaway shots.
9:13 p.m.: Rangers win the face-off after an icing call.
9:11 p.m.: Casey Mittelstadt hit Gavrikov. Pastrnak’s shot is blocked by Marcus Pettersson.
