Bruins vs. Blackhawks live updates, highlights
(All times Eastern)
End of second period: Bruins 2, Blackhawks 2
2:47 p.m.: Both teams mismanaged their opportunities in the last 54 seconds, but we go into the second intermission still tied.
2:40 p.m.: There was a fight behind the play at the Bruins’ goal line. Alex Vlasic takes a legal hit from Casey Mittelstadt, but Vlasic follows Mittelstadt into the neutral zone. The two go at it, and then both teams converge on the scuffle. Nikita Zadorov dropped his gloves and went after Vlasic despite the refs trying to pull him off. Sounds like the official ruling is that both Mittelstadt and Vlasic will get double minors for roughing. Zadorov will get a 10-minute misconduct. It’ll be 5-on-4 for the final minute of the period.
2:39 p.m.: Soderblom is holding it down for the Blackhawks.
2:37 p.m.: This period has not been quite as feisty as the first.
2:33 p.m.: The Blackhawks are taking full advantage of their power play in the first minute. Bruins are able to get Chicago away from DiPietro for the last minute and kill the penalty.
2:30 p.m.: Fraser Minten will go to the box for 2 minutes for holding Tyler Bertuzzi.

2:25 p.m.: DiPietro just survived a barrage of shots from numerous Blackhawks.
2:23 p.m.: Pastrnak slips up, and Frondell intercepts the puck. He rushed towards the net, looking for a hat trick, but DiPietro comes in clutch with the deflection.
2:20 p.m.: In between plays, the cameras have panned to the crowd, and it is so fun to see all the fans in attendance dressed up for Halloween.
2:17 p.m.: Bruins have only registered 7 shots on goal so far. It feels like a pretty low number compared to past games.
2:11 p.m.: Fraser Minten drops back to Marat Khusnutdinov, who fires but hits the post. That is the third post hit of the game for the Bruins.
Blackhawks 2, Bruins 1
