After his team’s Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns edge rusher Jared Verse had some choice words for the Browns’ AFC North rival.
When speaking to reporters after the Browns’ 27-24 win on Thursday night, which pushed the team to 3-1, Verse called the Steelers “garbage” and accused them of playing “dirty.”
“They were talking crazy. I was telling them, ‘You’re double-teaming, y’all sliding, y’all garbage.’ I was talking crazy to them. I don’t got no respect for anyone who plays dirty and does extra s*** after the game,” Verse said, according to Cleveland 19 News’ Ashly Holder.

“I can’t wait to see them again. It’s going to be a good time when I see them again.”
Verse, who was acquired by Cleveland in the blockbuster Myles Garrett trade, appears to be acclimating himself quite well to the Steelers-Browns rivalry.
Verse won’t have to wait long to meet Pittsburgh again, as the Browns and Steelers meet for the second and final time during the regular season in Week 8.

It isn’t clear exactly what play or plays Verse is talking about when it comes to his accusation that the Steelers were playing dirty, so we’ll just have to take his word for it.
Not the same old Browns?

The Browns were universally viewed as a team that would be a bottom-feeder in 2026, but through four games that has not been the case.
On the strength of much-improved play from Deshaun Watson, Cleveland has ripped off three straight wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, and Steelers.
Verse said this is a very different Browns team after its 3-1 start.

“This ain’t the old Browns. It’s got new swag, we’re a lot more aggressive, we’re a lot more getting after it. This is something different here. We’re going to make this whole city rock,” Verse said, per News 5 Cleveland’s Camryn Justice.
It has been quite the turnaround for the Browns since Week 1, when they looked awful against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 34-10 loss.
That prompted former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin to troll Cleveland, which head coach Todd Monken and the players used as a rallying cry.

“Browns are gonna Browns — f*** that, OK?” Monken said after the team’s Week 2 win over the Bucs. “The guys took that to heart.”
The Browns will now get some extra rest ahead of their Week 5 game against the New York Jets, when Cleveland will be looking to continue its hot streak and improve to 4-1.
