The Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football thanks to an impressive defensive performance, clutch kicking, and an offense that got the job done against a tough Steelers defense.

But what made the win even more impressive is that they did it without Mason Graham for most of it. Early in the game, he suffered what looked to be a serious leg injury. He left the game, never returned, and looked likely to miss some time.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that Graham, while he’s going to miss “some time” with his leg injury, the overall update is a positive one. Graham avoided a major injury, according to Fowler, which, all things considered, is some good news.

“Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham is expected to miss ‘some time’ but avoided major injury, per source,” Fowler reported.

As Fowler noted, this is some “relative good news” for the Browns. Considering there was some real concern about a major injury, one that’d possibly be season-altering for Graham, this update is some good news.

Graham is still going to miss some time, so the Browns’ defense will be a bit worse than usual without him moving forward.

He has four sacks this season already, but unfortunately will be out for a bit due to his serious-looking knee injury.

But considering how bad his injury looked and how he was seen using crutches after the game following the Browns’ TNF win over the Steelers, this update is some good news for the Browns.

The extent of his absence and his injury isn’t known just yet, but this report from Fowler indicates it’s not a season-ending issue, and it might not even be one that keeps him out for long this year.
