Bronny James added to CV Lakers roster, but will he play Friday?

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday that they have assigned Bronny James as well as first-round draft pick Cameron Carr to the Coachella Valley Lakers.

The CV Lakers make their debut on Friday night against the Salt Lake City Stars at Acrisure Arena at 7 p.m.

A team spokesman said it is still to be determined whether James, the son of basketball icon LeBron James, will play for the CV Lakers on Friday or if it is a logistical move sometimes necessary between a G League team and its parent team. Bronny James and Carr are scheduled to be with the CV Lakers when they practices at Acrisure Arena on Thursday afternoon.

Bronny played six games for the South Beach Lakers during the 2025-26 season averaging 9.5 points in those games.

He has played at Acrisure Arena before, famously taking the court with his father LeBron for the first time during an exhibition game in the desert in 2024.
