Tottenham Hotspur‘s 2026/27 Premier League campaign kicks off with a challenging trip to Brentford. The Gtech is always a tough venue to visit, and the ninth-place Bees have had a strong preseason, coming off emphatic wins against Rennes and Eintracht Frankfurt.
A neutral could be forgiven for thinking it might be a bridge too far for Spurs, only narrowly escaping relegation last season.
But this is a new season, and a new-look Spurs. The Lilywhites have splashed the cash to overhaul their squad, and under coach Roberto De Zerbi appear to have turned a corner, staving off disaster last season before embarking on a successful preseason of their own (Sydney Super Cup winners, you’ll never sing that).
There are still many questions to be answered, though. Could Spurs’ lack of attacking depth hurt them? Is the amount of change to the squad going to affect cohesion (or lack thereof)? Where in the world is Dejan Kulusevski?
