Brentford star impresses on Italy debut with crucial goal

Italy might well and truly be back!

Roberto Mancini’s side face Türkiye in the UEFA Nations League this evening and at half-time they already lead by three goals.

It took less than 10 minutes for Alessandro Bastoni to open the scoring with a header from a corner.

Then, midfielder Davide Frattesi added a second a little over 10 minutes later to make things comfortable for Italy.

But, it’s the goal that came after that caught the attention as 22-year-old Brentford right-back Michael Kayode marked his senior Italy debut with a goal.

He was left completely unmarked in the box and his teammates were able to work the ball out to time before his strike found the back of the net.

The defender has impressed in the Premier League since moving to Brentford from Fiorentina in January last year – now he is shining on the international stage!

A victory tonight could move Italy into second in their Nations League group if the clash between Belgium and France doesn’t end in a draw.
