How aggressive the Atlanta Braves will be at the Major League Baseball trade deadline seems to be one of the more important questions that needs to be answered over the next month and a half. 

The Braves, undoubtedly one of the better teams in Major League Baseball at the moment, have shown a willingness in the past to really go out there and land some of the better players available. There’s been a lot of talk about them potentially going after Byron Buxton, though there’s still a sense he won’t get traded. Another interesting name to watch out for is Joe Ryan. 

One CBS writer recently suggested that because Minnesota isn’t too far out, it’s not crazy to think they might not be sellers.

“The 32-year-old Buxton has been on a rampage the last few weeks, hitting .297/.351/.672 with 25 home runs in his last 55 games. The Twins are only two games out of a wild-card spot in the woebegone American League, though it seems unlikely they will buy significantly at the deadline. If anything, they could still sell, with righty Joe Ryan and catcher Ryan Jeffers among their top trade chips,” Mike Axisa wrote.

Only two games out of a playoff spot in the American League Wild Card, the Twins are in a position where they don’t have to necessarily move on from guys. 

I wouldn’t personally agree with that, but this is an issue the Braves could run into. If there’s another aspect to watch over the next few weeks, it’s teams hopefully playing poorly and deciding they have to sell.
