The Washington Commanders were back on the practice field Tuesday in preparation for Wednesday’s joint practice with the Miami Dolphins. After a day in pads on Monday, Washington sat several key veterans ahead of what’s expected to be a physical scrimmage-like atmosphere on Wednesday.
Tuesday began with head coach Dan Quinn saying cornerback Trey Amos and center Nick Allegretti would not participate in Wednesday’s joint practice. Quinn said Amos would likely be reevaluated next week. The same timeline applies to Allegretti.
As for what happened on the field, here are four players who stood out from Day 10 of Commanders training camp.
With star receivers Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs enjoying a rest day before Wednesday’s practice, it allowed some of the younger players an opportunity to shine. That’s what rookie Antonio Williams did, catching multiple touchdowns. Williams has been impressive throughout camp. He is excellent at creating separation with his quick feet. It will be interesting to see how much Williams plays in Friday’s preseason game.
The third-year tight end has been one of the best stories in training camp. Known as a special-teams standout, Yankoff has gotten plenty of work on offense this summer. He’s taken advantage of every rep. He catches everything, and his size, length and speed are evident when he’s on the field. Yankoff seems to make multiple plays in every practice. He was at it again on Tuesday.
We talked about Williams taking advantage of an opportunity, and so did Brown. Brown has chemistry with quarterback Jayden Daniels, and it shows. The pair hit on an impressive deep ball on Monday, and that trend continued on Tuesday. It’s hard to say whether Brown or Williams had the better day, but both were super impressive. Brown is seemingly growing more confident in David Blough‘s offense with each practice.
The rookie fifth-round pick just continues to show up. He was impressive again on Tuesday. Here’s what Zach Selby of commanders.com wrote about Josephs on one specific play.

Jayden Daniels connected with Chig Okonkwo on his first pass, but there’s a chance he would have been sacked by Joshua Josephs on the play after he made a move to rip behind Brandon Coleman. Josephs has been one of the more exciting young pass rushers in Commanders practice because of his quickness and motor.
