The start of the 2026-2027 college basketball season is still months away. However, we did get a notable development this week, as on Monday, the Big Ten announced USC women8217;s basketball’s opponents for the 2026-2027 season.
Once again, the Trojans will play 18 conference games—nine at home, and nine on the road. The Women of Troy will host Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota, and Nebraska at Galen Center. USC will travel on the road to face Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin, Maryland, Rutgers, Washington, and Oregon.
As was the case the past two years, the lone team that USC will face twice will be crosstown rival UCLA. The Trojans will battle the defending national champions (not a fun sentence to write) both at Galen Center and across town at Pauley Pavilion.
Dates for USC’s conference matchups will be announced at a later date. We do know, however, that the Trojans will open the season against UNLV in Las Vegas on November 2.
Led by superstar Juju Watkins, a deep cast of returners, and a loaded recruiting class, next season should be the best roster that the Women of Troy have had in several decades. As we know, however, basketball games are not played on paper. It will be up to head coach Lindsay Gottlieb and company to make the most of the team’s talent and finally make it to the program’s first Final Four since 1986.
