Big 12 football rushing leaders after Week 1 with Cam Cook on top

With the first week of the college football season complete for the Big 12, multiple running backs stood out, including Cam Cook from West Virginia, who is currently leading the conference in rushing yards. He also had two rushing touchdowns in the Mountaineers’ win over Coastal Carolina.

Another player who made his presence known is quarterback JC French with Cincinnati. On 10 attempts, he averaged 5.2 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns. In addition, he also had a passing touchdown in the Bearcats’ 34-15 win over Boston College.

One player who was noticeably quiet in the first week is running back LJ Martin with BYU. Martin, who is the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, only had 54 rushing yards on seven attempts. There are also no running backs from Colorado on the list despite the Buffaloes putting up nearly 200 rushing yards.
