Benjamin Mendy (32) has auctioned off his 2018 World Cup winners’ trophy for €54,000, as reported by L’EquipeThe Pogon Szczecin left-beck put his trophy up for sale during the Global Football Auction Part 2, which was held by American auction company Goldin. Mendy’s trophy was described as damaged and slightly worn. The buyer also received a FIFA World Cup winner certificate signed by the former Monaco and Manchester City full-back.

Although, he arrived out of form, Mendy was picked up by Didier Deschamps for France’s 2018 World Cup run. The left-back eventually played a part-time role with Lucas Hernandez starting all of France’s games bar one. Mendy has not featured with Les Bleus since an European qualifier game against Albania in 2019. In 2023, the left-back was found not guilty of ten counts of rape and attempted rape.
