Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase injured vs Jaguars in NFL Week 4

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase was injured during the second quarter of the team’s NFL Week 4 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Paycor Stadium.

Chase had his facemask grabbed before absorbing a huge hit after a catch and remained down on the field. Chase went to the blue tent for evaluation for a concussion.

During the week, Chase had nothing to say when asked about Jags defensive back/receiver Travis Hunter’s growth from his rookie season to his second season

Chase had two touchdown catches in the team’s Week 2 win against Houston, including a remarkable toe-tap TD while defended by the Texans‘ Derek Stingley Jr.

Chase had just two catches for 12 receiving yards during the Bengals’ season-opening win against Tampa Bay.

During the week, Chase said he wants fans to yell “BLURRRRRRRR” when he makes a play, along the same lines as the “TEEEEEEEE!” they scream when teammate Tee Higgins does.

In August, Chase walked off the field under his own power following an injury during training camp practice.

After practice, Chase said he was “good,” and called the injury a “little hyperextension.” He said he could have resumed practicing if needed.

Bengals radio play-by-play announcer Dan Hoard said he “nearly fainted” when he learned of Chase’s injury.

Chase has played in 78 games over his first five seasons with the Bengals.

In December 2025, Chase became a 1,000-yard receiver for the fifth time in five NFL seasons, becoming the fifth player in NFL history with at least 1,000 yards in each of his first five seasons, joining Randy Moss, Mike Evans, former Bengals receiver A.J. Green and Justin Jefferson, Chase’s former LSU teammate.

Chase, named a Pro Bowler in each of his first five seasons, won the receiving triple crown in 2024. It was the first in Bengals’ history.

Last season, the Bengals played their Week 12 game against the New England Patriots without Chase, who was suspended for one game for spitting on Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey during their altercation in Pittsburgh’s 34-12 Week 11 win.

Chase appealed the suspension, which was upheld. Chase denied spitting on Ramsey, but Ramsey said Chase spit on him before Ramsey was ejected, and video of the incident supported Ramsey’s claim.

In March 2025, Chase signed a four-year contract extension with Cincinnati worth $161 million.
