The injury scare for DJ Turner appears to be a brief one for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Turner left Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans and was quickly ruled out. But speaking with reporters the day after, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor provided some good news.
Speaking with reporters at his weekly presser, Taylor said that Turner suffered a heel injury that will only keep him with a day-to-day designation.
It’s a major relief for the Bengals, considering Jalen Davis and Ja’Sir Taylor are on injured reserve at cornerback already and they aren’t giving notable rookie Tacario Davis any snaps.
Call it an even bigger relief for Turner, who is a candidate for a market-resetting contract extension this upcoming offseason. From the sounds of it, he’ll likely be on the international flight with the team to Spain and perhaps capable of suiting up in Week 9, depending on how things go this week.
