Before-and-after photos show the decor changes Trump has made to the White House, so far

The White House looks a little bit different these days.

Every US president makes new interior design choices upon taking up residence at the People’s House, often reflecting their personal tastes or political views.

In his second term, President Donald Trump has incorporated his love of maximalism and gold furnishings into the Oval Office.

He has other, bigger plans for the White House, too.

The East Wing was demolished in October to make way for a new 90,000-square-foot state ballroom.

However, Congress has not approved the project.

A federal appeals court has upheld an order blocking above-ground construction of the White House’s planned ballroom, which the Trump administration has described as part of an “integrated military complex,” but temporarily paused the order to give the administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle previously told Business Insider that Trump “continues to implement long-overdue and necessary renovations to beautify the People’s House as we celebrate our great Nation’s 250th anniversary of independence,” adding that the changes would help the White House “remain in excellent condition for generations to come.” Take a look inside Trump’s redecorated White House to see the changes he’s made since former President Joe Biden left office.
