Real Madrid have been making some major moves in the summer transfer window to reinforce the squad at Jose Mourinho’s disposal.
Among the many names the club are interested in is Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise, for whom Los Blancos are planning a record bid.
Real Madrid’s interest in the Frenchman has not gone unnoticed in Germany, and Bayern Munich now appear ready to answer in the most direct way possible: a major contract renewal.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern want to extend Olise’s contract from 2029 to 2031, with the German club determined not to lose a player Real Madrid see as a possible Galactico signing.
Bayern are prepared to offer Olise a salary close to €25 million per year, which would place him among the club’s top earners and underline how seriously they are taking the threat of a future Madrid move.

Real Madrid have been linked with a huge offer for Olise, with figures as high as €220 million being floated.
That number tells its own story. Florentino Perez clearly likes the idea of adding another elite attacking talent, but Bayern’s stance is not softening.
From a Real Madrid perspective, this is exactly the kind of transfer that tests ambition against realism. Olise has the profile to fit the Bernabeu: creativity, dribbling, final-third quality and the ability to play with personality on the biggest stage.
However, Olise is Bayern’s big superstar alongside Harry Kane, and they will do everything they can to stop the winger leaving this summer.
Real Madrid must choose their battles
Still, signing him would not just require money. It would require Bayern to change their position, the player to be convinced and Real Madrid to commit an enormous part of their transfer budget to one attacker.

That is where the club have to be careful. Los Blancos should always monitor elite players, especially when they can transform the attack.
However, they cannot spend everything they have on this transfer without thinking about the repercussions.
Olise is a spectacular player and would excite any Real Madrid supporter. His left foot, calmness in tight areas and ability to decide matches make him exactly the kind of forward who fits the idea of a modern Galactico.
If Bayern’s renewal goes through, though, that would be the end of this transfer saga for Madrid, at least for this summer.
It remains to be seen how things pan out on this front in the coming weeks and whether Madrid have a realistic chance of signing Olise.
