Paris Saint-Germain’s Mathis Jangéal (17) is expected to leave the club where he came through the ranks to join FC Famalicão, according to reports in Le Parisien.
Also courted by VfB Stuttgart, Hamburg SV and Eintracht Frankfurt, the young forward has reportedly finally decided to move to Portugal to continue his career.
Once again, PSG see another member of their academy leave, despite having made an offer to ‘Le Titi’ in the hope of keeping him. However, the prospects for the future and the youthfulness of the Portuguese side’s squad – who finished fifth in Primeira Liga last season – ultimately convinced the Longjumeau-born player to join them.
Having scored a brace against Montpellier HSC (3-2) in the Gambardella Cup final, which saw PSG’s Under-19s lift the trophy, Jangéal enjoyed a full season, playing 34 matches across all competitions – including two for Luis Enrique’s side – scoring 20 goals and providing 11 assists.
