Baseball: TCU RHP Tanner Sagouspe selected by Colorado Rockies with 254th overall pick in 2026 MLB Draft

TCU right-handed pitcher Tanner Sagouspe, who led the Horned Frogs in saves and earned All-Big 12 First Team honors in his first season with the team, has been selected by the Colorado Rockies with the No. 254 overall pick in the ninth round of the 2026 MLB Draft. Sagouspe, a transfer from Cal Poly, went 2-3 with a 2.43 ERA while striking out 43 with 14 walks over 33.1 innings pitched. He finished with five saves during the 2026 season.

Prior to transferring in, Sagouspe played four seasons at Cal Poly. The 6-foot, 195-pounder earned an All-Big West Honorable Mention in 2024. In his time on the west coast, Sagouspe finished 8-6 with a 4.06 ERA. He made 62 appearances with one start, striking out 120 batters with 48 walks over 99.2 innings pitched. Over his final two seasons at Cal Poly, Sagouspe recorded 15 saves and posted 104 strikeouts.
