The South Bend area prep volleyball trio of Penn, Mishawaka Marian and NorthWood all made postseason runs to the IHSAA semi-state round of the state tournament series in 2025.

Who from the South Bend Tribune’s area will make it the deepest into postseason play this time around?

Area sectional play opens in the Class 3A Marian Sectional and the Class 2A Bremen Sectional Tuesday night. First-round matchups in sectionals at Mishawaka, Northridge and West Noble are slated for Thursday night.

Penn and Marian are each huge sectional favorites with the No. 5 ranked Kingsmen playing in the Mishawaka Sectional in Class 4A and the No. 9 ranked Knights playing at home in Class 3A. NorthWood has won seven straight sectional titles in Class 3A under coach Hilary Laidig, but will be an underdog this time around at West Noble, where the No. 11 ranked hosts are the sectional favorite.

Penn takes a 27-4 mark into the sectional with two of those losses coming to Class 4A No. 1, nationally ranked and two-time defending state champion Fort Wayne Carroll. Marian is 22-8 with NorthWood sitting at 14-13 and West Noble at 23-3.

The Class 4A Northridge Sectional has a strong five-team field with a trio of teams with winning records. Warsaw has won four straight sectional titles.

Results from area sectionals will be updated below, so check this page after each day of action!
