Barcelona star ‘on the verge’ of summer exit

· · 1 min read

A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is closing on an imminent departure from the club this summer.

That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.

Shot-stopper Ter Stegen of course finds himself as something of the odd man out in Catalunya’s capital with a view to next season.

Following an injury-hit loan stint with Girona this past season, the German remains behind both Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny in the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad.

Aware of as much, Ter Stegen and his entourage have been scouring the market over recent weeks, in search of proposals for the 2026/27 campaign.

And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the 34-year-old appears to have found precisely that, in the Netherlands.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘Marc-André ter Stegen will play for Ajax Amsterdam next season. According to AS, the German goalkeeper is on the verge of finalizing his one-year loan to the Dutch club.’

Míchel’s recent arrival on the Ajax bench proved key to the operation, after the Spaniard and Ter Stegen joined forces at the aforementioned Girona earlier this year.
