Barcelona set medical and presentation date for new signing Karim Adeyemi – report

Barcelona are now putting the finishing touches on one of their biggest moves of the summer, with Karim Adeyemi’s arrival in Catalonia entering its final phase. 

After reaching a full agreement with Borussia Dortmund, the Blaugrana are preparing to welcome the German international for his medical examinations before officially introducing him as Hansi Flick’s latest addition.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Adeyemi is expected to undergo his medical assessment on Wednesday, July 15, with Barcelona planning to unveil their newest signing the following day. 

The schedule signals that the transfer is now a matter of completing the final formalities before the forward is officially confirmed as a Barcelona player.

The agreement is worth €22 million in guaranteed payments, while a further €9 million could be triggered through performance-related bonuses.

Although Barcelona succeeded in keeping the initial fee under control, Dortmund negotiated an important condition of their own. 

Notably, the Bundesliga side will retain 35% of any future transfer fee, ensuring they stand to benefit should Adeyemi secure another big move later in his career.

Adeyemi, meanwhile, has agreed personal terms on a contract running until June 2031, committing his long-term future to the club.

With every major aspect of the transfer now resolved, attention shifts to the final administrative procedures. 

Adeyemi is expected in Barcelona next week to complete the routine medical tests required before signing his contract.

Once those examinations are completed, the 24-year-old will formally sign a five-year deal before being presented to supporters and the media at Spotify Camp Nou on July 16, according to Di Marzio.

As such, the Germany international will earn a fixed net salary of €6 million per season, reflecting Barcelona’s confidence in a player they believe can become an important figure in Flick’s attacking system.
