Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Real Betis winger Ez Abde after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffered a serious knee injury, with Barcelona potentially in line for an €11 million windfall if the Moroccan international is sold for €55 million.
According to a report from SPORT, the Ligue 1 champions are assessing attacking reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window, and Abde has emerged as one of the candidates under consideration by Luis Enrique.
Notably, although the Catalan club sold Abde to Betis in September 2023, they retained 20% of the rights to a future transfer, meaning any lucrative sale could provide them with a significant financial boost without having to negotiate a new deal themselves.
PSG consider Abde as a replacement for injured Kvaratskhelia
PSG’s interest in Abde comes after Kvaratskhelia suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Champions League match against Barcelona.
The Georgian winger is expected to be sidelined for several months, forcing the French champions to explore alternative options to strengthen their attack.

Abde, who could have left Real Betis in the summer, is among the players reportedly being considered as Luis Enrique evaluates his options for the winter transfer market.
The 24-year-old Moroccan winger’s profile makes him a candidate for the role, although PSG’s interest does not necessarily mean that a deal is imminent.
Real Betis demand could deliver Barcelona €11 million
Betis are understood to have little appetite for selling Abde cheaply.
During the summer transfer window, the Spanish club made clear that they would not consider his departure for less than €55 million, a figure approaching his €60 million release clause.

Barcelona’s financial interest comes from the agreement reached when Abde left the club in September 2023 for €7.5 million.
The Catalans retained a 20% stake in a future transfer, giving them a financial incentive to monitor developments despite no longer controlling the winger’s future.
A sale for €55 million would therefore generate approximately €11 million for Barcelona under the arrangement, a figure that would be a substantial return from a player who departed Camp Nou for a comparatively modest fee.
The final amount Barcelona receive would depend on the terms of any completed transaction and the precise application of the retained rights.
