Five farmers have reportedly been killed by suspected bandits while working on their farmlands in Wasagu communities, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The development was disclosed in a post on Thursday by crisis reporter and security analyst, Bakatsine via his X handle.
According to Bakatsine, the armed attackers invaded farmlands where the farmers were working and opened fire on them, killing five people and abducting others.
He also reported that a resident identified as Alhaji Ummaru was killed along the Ayu–Wasagu road in Wasagu town.
Bakatsine said the attackers also abducted children who were travelling with Ummaru on a motorcycle near the Nayaya and Rijiyar Margayi areas.
The incidents have heightened concerns among residents and farming communities in the area, with insecurity increasingly affecting access to farmlands and movement along rural roads.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official confirmation or statement from security operatives on the reported attacks, while the fate of those abducted remained unknown.
