Bandits abduct Sarkin Fulani, son, relative in Niger

Bandits have abducted the Sarkin Fulani of Betuwa in Gulbin Boka, Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, along with his son and another family member.

The attack reportedly occurred on Friday night when the armed men invaded the traditional leader’s residence.

Local sources said the attackers took the traditional leader, his son and another relative before leaving the community.

Security expert Bakatsine disclosed the incident in a post on X on Saturday.

“Last night, bandits reportedly attacked the residence of the Sarkin Fulani of Betuwa in Gulbin Boka, Mariga LGA of Niger State,” Bakatsine said.

“According to local sources, the bandits stormed the residence during the night and abducted the traditional leader, his son, and another family member before fleeing.”

The names and whereabouts of the three victims were not immediately known at the time of filing this report.

It was also unclear whether security agencies had begun efforts to rescue the victims or arrest those behind the attack.
