Bandits operating in Katsina State have reportedly confirmed the death of Biliya, a senior lieutenant to notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu, after their group came under attack by security forces in the Matazu axis.
The development was reported by security analysts Zagazola Makama on Saturday, August 15, 2026, based on intelligence obtained from a conversation between two suspected bandit associates identified as Mamiyo and Juli Asso Maha.
According to the report, the conversation was monitored at about 11:34pm, with Juli asking Mamiyo about Biliya.
Mamiyo, who was said to have returned from Kachalla Muhammadu’s location, reportedly confirmed that Biliya and members of his gang had embarked on an operation towards the northern part of their location in the Matazu axis.
The group reportedly entered an undisclosed town and later left Biliya inside a shop before coming under attack from security forces.
Mamiyo reportedly confirmed Biliya’s death after the group returned to the location of their leader.
“Biliya and members of his gang had embarked on an operation towards the northern part of their location in the Matazu axis,” Mamiyo reportedly said during the conversation.
The report said the information angered members of the group, with Juli expressing frustration over Biliya’s death.
Authorities are yet to issue any official statement confirming Biliya’s reported death as of the time of this report.
