It’s confirmed that an Oscar-nominated actor will cameo in Avengers: Doomsday.
With two months to go until its release, Avengers: Doomsday has a stacked cast. From longtime Marvel Cinematic Universe favorites like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans, to “original” X-Men actors like Patrick Stewart and James Marsden, there will be a lot of faces to keep track of in this cinematic story revolving around Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Now there’s another actor to add into the mix, although she won’t have as much screen time compared to her co-stars.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Sandra Hüller, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in 2023’s Anatomy of a Fall, will briefly appear in Avengers: Doomsday. This confirmation from the publication follows Hüller’s name appearing on the British Stunt Register a few weeks ago, which kicked off Doomsday-centric rumors. No details about her role in the upcoming Marvel movie have been revealed, though it’s speculated she might be playing Victor von Doom’s mother or one of the Latverian Witches.
Along with Anatomy of a Fall, which won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar and was nominated in three other categories, Hüller also grabbed attention in 2023 for The Zone of Interest, which won Best International Feature Film and Best Sound at the 96th Academy Awards, and was nominated in three other categories. 2026 has been a particularly eventful year for Hüller. Her 2026 film credits include starring opposite Ryan Gosling in Project Hail Mary, and most recently performing with Tom Cruise in Digger.
