Auburn football vs Southern Miss delayed due to inclement weather

AUBURN — Lightning’s been detected within 8 miles of Jordan-Hare Stadium, according to the venue’s public address, and fans have been asked to seek shelter in surrounding buildings.

Fans don’t appear to be heading for the exits, but both Auburn football and Southern Miss have left the field and returned to their locker rooms. It was announced the start of the game — originally schedule for a 6:55 p.m. CT kickoff — may be delayed until the weather passes.

Auburn began its season with a 17-16 victory against Baylor last weekend, while the Golden Eagles also won their season-opener, 49-3, against Alcorn State.
