The Atlanta Braves have a duo of dominant relievers in MLB with sub-1.00 ERAs, and it’s likely the reason the Braves have held the best record in the sport for the better part of a month.

This offseason, the Braves poured a lot of money into Robert Suarez (3-year, $45 million) and Raisel Iglesias (1-year, $16 million) to ensure a strong bullpen. Well, both have performed to such a high level this season, and should be all-star candidates for the mid-July game.

Iglesias, in particular, has an ERA of 0.86 with 13 saves in 20 appearances. Raisel Iglesias is in his 12th MLB season, but he’s yet to be named to an All-Star game despite having SEVERAL seasons with 30+ saves.

Will Raisel Iglesias Get Snubbed from ASG?

Recently, in a piece for Fansided.com, Oliver Fox names Raisel Iglesias as an MLB player ‘bound’ to be snubbed from the All-Star game:

“Iglesias has been a solid-to-good-to-great closer for over a decade now, and I am not sure what bro has to do to finally make an All-Star Game before he retires. And while he has a really good case right now, I wonder if he will hold off the Cardinals’ Riley O’Brien, whose save count has been climbing fast and who has pitched nine more innings than Iglesias has.”

It’s not Iglesias’s fault that his team needs to use him less, but it’s also fair to note that Raisel could even be getting blocked by his teammate, Robert Suarez, who holds an ERA of 0.63 over eight more innings as well.

Fox then also noted that Jhoan Duran and Mason Miller are likely to be locks for a spot in the ‘Midsummer Classic’, especially the Phillies’ closer Duran, considering the ASG is in Philadelphia.

Shockingly, Raisel Iglesias has yet to be an MLB All-Star after some of his tremendous seasons, and this could arguably be his best start to a season, yet he still may get snubbed.

The flip argument is that since the Braves have been so successful this season, Iglesias could be a selection based on his (and the team’s) success in 2026.
