Asheville High's Kaydan Whiteside gets offer from Georgia football

New Asheville High wide receiver and defensive back Kaydan Whiteside received a scholarship offer from Georgia football on June 4 following a strong camp performance.

The Bulldogs are the first SEC team to offer Whiteside. Besides Georgia, he holds offers from East Carolina, Miami (Ohio), Wake Forest and Duke, as well as an FCS offer from Southern.

Whiteside transferred to the Cougars from Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. In six games, he caught eight passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing score.

He joins an Asheville High team that already boasts one of the top wide receiver and defensive back groups in Western North Carolina. That group includes Jam Skyes, who totaled 42 receptions for 856 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025, while adding an interception and five pass deflections.
