Arsenal today completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, a huge deal for Mikel Arteta’s team as they look to try to build on last season’s Premier League title.
But it doesn’t sound like they’re done in the market yet. A report from TeamTalk today claims the Gunners are keen on Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz.
It’s a season of change on the wing for the Gunners – Leandro Trossard has left, and Gabriel Martinelli is likely to be sold if a good offer comes in. They’ve already signed Christos Tzolis, but the fact that they pushed for Vinicius Jr last week shows that they’re still keen to add another attacker.
Kenan Yildiz a top option for Arsenal in attack
Yildiz would certainly be the “major attacking signing” that Mikel Arteta apparently wants.
The 21 year old has shown immense quality in his time in Serie A and has broken into the Juve first team. Prising him away won’t be easy – the Old Lady are desperate to hold on to their star player.
But the fact that Arsenal are so competitive right now makes them a tempting option for any young player who wants to go and win trophies.
Juventus are said to want “well above €100,” for the Turkey international, and they might well get it considering they tied him down to a new contract as recently as February.
Despite the rumours, this feels like a long shot – but if Arsenal really want it, they can make it happen, and Yildiz would probably find a move hard to turn down.
