Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream defeated the Toronto Tempo 102-77 on Sunday. It was a comfortable win that pushed their record to 9-4. However, an incident in the third quarter of the WNBA regular-season game made the two-time All-Star tear up.
She received the ball in the paint after sealing Isabelle Harrison. Reese backed her down but the Tempo forward pulled her to the ground, grabbing her arms over her shoulders.

Harrison was assessed with a Flagrant 2 foul and was ejected from the game. Reese was captured on camera in tears following the play.
Reese and Harrison were teammates with the Chicago Sky in the 2024 season. The No. 12 pick in 2015 served as a mentor to the then-rookie out of LSU. Their shared bond was likely a big reason why Reese became emotional.
Angel Reese and the Dream face a tough schedule
Atlanta is one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. They are trailing the New York Liberty for the top spot by only half-a-game but will have a challenging schedule ahead.
Reese and Co. will be back in action on Thursday when they visit the Indiana Fever and will host them two days later. Atlanta will then face the Tempo at State Farm Arena before embarking on a four-game road trip. If the Dream continue their dominant ways, it would send a strong message to the rest of the league that they are serious contenders this year.
