ADC rally: I thought me, Atiku will address Sokoto people from our cars - Amaechi

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, has disclosed that he thought that he and the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar will address the people of Sokoto State from their cars.

Amaechi disclosed that he thought the ADC’s presidential campaign flag-off will not hold.

Speaking during the campaign rally, Amaechi said the people of the state have shown that they would resist any attempt by President Bola Tinubu to rig the 2027 presidential election.

He said: “I want to start by thanking our dear host, a former Speaker and governor. In fact while I was in the car, I was worried are we going to handle this. Before I met Atiku, I thought that we had aborted, I thought that we were going to address them from the car but as far as i was concerned, we must address them today.

“I remembered our last discussion before we came to Sokoto, you(Atiku) insisted as the presidential candidate that even if it’s on the road, we must address this crowd and today we are here to address the crowd.

“The first sign the Sokoto people have shown is that they will resist any attempt by President Tinubu to rig the election.”
