This Texans star has a blunt message for Greg Abbott after the longtime Texas governor’s election defeat.
Texas was swept up in a blue wave on Tuesday night, with Democrats breaking the hold Republicans had on Texas politics for the past 30 years. Texans tight end Dalton Schultz celebrated the news by giving the outgoing Texas governor a two-word send-off on his Instagram story.
“Get F—ed!,” Schultz wrote on his Instagram story on Wednesday morning, tagging Abbott in the post.
The Texans player followed up his insult to Abbott by showing his support for the newly elected Texas governor, Gina Hinojosa. Reactions to Schultz’s position surprised fans who were unaware of Schultz political standing, with many fans saying his post warranted a jersey purchase
“That’s my tight end,” one fan wrote on X.
“Damn, no more Dalton Schultzslander lol,” another fan wrote.
“We have our Joe Rogan of the Left,” another chimed in.

Schultz, who has been with the Texans since 2023 after spending four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, holds the franchise record for most receptions by a tight end. He has also made his opinions about Greg Abbott and his policies abundantly clear for some time now.
In a tweet from February 23, 2022, Schultz criticized Abbott for issuing a directive ordering the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to treat and classify medically necessary gender affirming care for transgender youth as child abuse
“If you think anything about what the POS [Greg Abbott] is doing about Trans kids in Texas is ok or justified, please unfollow me,” Schultz wrote on X.

In July 2022, Schultz called out the Texas governor once again, quoting a tweet from the official Texas governor account blaming the deaths of migrants on President Joe Biden.
Never heard of a good leader who points fingers, Greg.

Schultz, who graduated from Stanford University in 2017, also criticized the two-party system that exists in the United States in May of 2022, calling it “broken” and “beyond frustrating as a US citizen.”
His political posting on X has slowed since 2022, but the Texas Democrats’ massive victory and Greg Abbott’s defeat apparently warranted a social media victory lap.
