Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown revealed Wednesday that he had not spoken with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts since the trade from Philadelphia. That changed Thursday.
The former teammates caught up for a few minutes after Thursday’s joint practice, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
McManus said it appeared to be a cordial visit as the two players smiled and shook hands.
Brown caught 339 passes for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns in his four seasons in Philadelphia, making two Pro Bowls and helping the Eagles win a Super Bowl. He and Hurts were once close before Brown became frustrated with his role in the offense over the past two seasons.
Brown requested a trade, and the Eagles finally dealt him on June 1.
Brown and Hurts both seemed to want to leave the past in the past this week and move on to this season.
“I’ve got a lot of love for him and always have,” Hurts said Wednesday.
