Philadelphia 76ers legend and former league MVP Allen Iverson shared a viral moment with a young fan in a Hong Kong airport. In a video posted on social media, a young supporter with Iverson’s jersey is running to meet him. The fan trips and falls, with Iverson stopping to pick him up and carry him through the airport. The former No. 1 overall pick, who has been known to travel abroad, was in Hong Kong for the 2026 Guangdong City Basketball League All-Star Game.
Iverson, a global NBA star throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, was a worldwide celebrity after leading the 76ers to the NBA Finals in his fifth season, the 2000-2001 campaign. Although the Sixers fell to the Los Angeles Lakers, Iverson’s popularity continued to grow. Throughout his career, the former Georgetown guard averaged 26.7 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.2 blocks in 914 games over 14 seasons. He won an MVP award, was an 11-time All-Star, a four-time scoring champion, a three-time steals champion and a seven-time All-NBA selection.
