In his remarks, the new Ajeh expressed appreciation to the people of Ekwuoma for their confidence and support, pledging to uphold the customs and traditions of the kingdom while promoting peace, unity and development.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation among the traditional institution, government and the people in addressing challenges facing the kingdom and advancing its development.
Chiefs Urge Collective Responsibility
The Chairman, Council of Chiefs and Orikeze of Ekwuoma, Chief Ernest Njokede, congratulated the new Ajeh and expressed optimism that his reign would be long, peaceful and memorable.
“Ekwuoma belongs to all of us. It is our collective heritage. Let us treasure and guard it with jealousy because we are the envy of the numerous less fortunate communities around us,” Njokede said.
He added that community development was not the sole responsibility of the traditional institution or chiefs, but a shared responsibility requiring the commitment of all sons and daughters of Ekwuoma and other residents of the kingdom.
The enthronement has ushered Ekwuoma into a new era, with the community looking to its young monarch to preserve its centuries-old traditions while providing purposeful leadership for the next generation.
