21 Savage's LaMelo Ball crash reference sparks debate

21 Savage’s latest release, “WTF GOIN,” has fans divided.

The Atlanta rapper made a guest appearance on Belly Gang Kushington’s “WTF GOIN” back in June, which contains the lyric,  “Crash and leave the scene like LaMelo Ball.”

Fans went to the comment section with divided opinions about the lyric and 21’s rapping.

“21 doing anything to stay relevant

we left bro in 2022,” one fan wrote.

Another fan approved of the line, writing, “21 killed this track.”

“21 Savage really doesn’t let anything slide,” a fan reacted.

While fans had a lot to say about the song, Ball has not yet commented on the name-drop on the song.

The release of “WTF GOIN” follows 21’s 2025 project, What Happened To The Streets.

The line is in reference to the then-Charlotte Hornet star’s car crash back in February. The crash took place in Charlotte, and according to video obtained by WSOC-TV, Ball is seen attempting to make a left turn in an intersection when he collided with a gray sedan. Ball was driving his custom camouflage 2022 GMC Hummer EV.

In another video, Ball is seen getting out of his truck and entering a black Lamborghini.

One person in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and Ball reportedly did not suffer any injuries and played in his next game.

“Fortunately everybody is cool, so blessings,” Ball said of the crash after the game, per ESPN. “God is great.”

Now with the crash behind him, Ball will be suiting up in a new jersey come the 2026-2027 NBA season. Ball was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on June 25. Ball reacted to the trade news, which also involved his Hornets teammate Josh Green, who will be joining him in Minnesota.

“I feel like it’s God’s plan,” Ball said during his Timberwolves introductory press conference last month. “I just leave it up to Him, and I just feel extremely blessed.”
