Five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright has scheduled a game-day visit to Florida on Sept. 26, according to Rivals’ Chad Simmons. The Jacksonville, Florida, native is heralded as the top recruit in the 2028 class.

Listed at 6-feet-3.5-inches and 215 pounds, Wright already has SEC size. Landing him would be a tremendous victory for the program as new head coach Jon Sumrall aims to keep elite in-state talent at home.

The Gators have been involved with Wright for years, offering him while he was still in the eighth grade, back in 2024. He was in Gainesville this past June for an unofficial visit, and reports surrounding his recruitment imply that the All-First Coast selection is the No. 1 priority for the Gators 2028 cycle.

During his standout sophomore season at Mandarin High School, Wright caught 46 passes for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns. According to MaxPreps, the playmaker eclipsed 1,500 all-purpose yards last year, also showcasing his abilities on special teams.

Wright was named the 2025 NFL Flag Player of the Year after leading the 14U division with 10 touchdowns and going viral for an eye-popping one-hand catch that drew praise from several NFL superstars, including Patrick Mahomes.

The Gators will be up against tough competition as the Longhorns covet Wright as well. He visited Austin in April and will return to Texas on Sept. 12.

Wright is ranked the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2028 class according to 247Sports Composite, a rating that is mirrored by On3’s industry rankings. He has 32 total offers, including invitations from 10 other SEC programs; among them are Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.

Rivals recruiting prediction machine suggests that the Gators hold the second-best odds to land the blue-chip recruit at 10.2%, with Miami leading the way at 31.1%.
