Our latest 53-man roster prediction for the Denver Broncos featured several tough roster cuts.
n
On offense, we went with three running backs, leaving Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin off the active roster. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Denver carry a fourth running back, and Badie could be the favorite because he plays on special teams and is a reliable pass blocker. Right now, though, neither is on our projection.
n
Elsewhere on offense, the prediction has nine offensive linemen and the top four backup spots seem to be set, which would leave out Calvin Throckmorton and Matt Peart. Throckmorton, in particular, would be hard to cut due to his versatility. He’s been filling in at center while the team has multiple injuries at the position.
n
On defense, linebacker Drew Sanders might be facing one final chance with the Broncos this summer. The club also needs somebody to step up at inside linebacker, but Jordan Turner and Taurean York didn’t make our latest projection. Here’s the full list of toughest cuts on our 53-man roster prediction.

Denver has two preseason games remaining, then the club will have until Aug. 30 to finalize an initial 53-man roster. The Broncos will also build a 16- or 17-player practice squad, so there will be hope for players who don’t end up on the active roster this summer.
