The stupidest discourse of the 2026 WNBA season so far has centered around the Indiana Fever possibly trading superstar guard Caitlin Clark.
Fever fans have a better chance of seeing the team sign Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi out of retirement than see the team trade away its generational franchise face. There’s a reason that Los Angeles Sparks rumor was so bogus.
Watching Clark drill a thrilling logo 3-pointer to defeat the hosting Washington Mystics shows what a generational talent she is. In fact, Fever coach Stephanie White used that phrase, “generational talent,” while talking about Clark after the victory, one that she doesn’t want the organization (or anyone) to take for granted.

The Clark trade rumors have always been baloney; there’s no simmering rage between Clark and her teammates or coaches. The conspiracies just aren’t real, folks. Give it a rest. Just judge the basketball and leave the rest alone.
