Zulum Gifts 30 Qur’anic Graduates N1m Each, Urges Scholars to Promote Modesty

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has awarded N1 million each to 30 graduating students of the Indimi Trust Islamic Centre who successfully memorised the Holy Qur’an.

The governor presented the cash gifts at the Indimi Mosque along the Old Damboa Road in Maiduguri during a ceremony organised to celebrate the graduates, who were fully sponsored by renowned philanthropist and businessman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, through the Indimi Islamic Trust.

Zulum, while addressing Islamic scholars at the event, urged them to intensify their efforts in preaching modesty, moral discipline and other values that promote responsible conduct in society.

The ceremony was attended by Islamic scholars, senior government officials and members of the business community from across Borno State.

Indimi, who has consistently supported education and humanitarian initiatives in the North-East and other parts of Nigeria, recently donated N2 billion to the University of Maiduguri education endowment fund.
