Zamfara govt suspends Abdu Gusau Polytechnic rector over alleged insubordination

The Zamfara State Government has suspended the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Dr. Sirajo Shinkafi, over alleged misconduct and insubordination.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Monday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.

According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative activities at the institution.

“The Government assures the Polytechnic community and the general public that measures have been put in place to ensure the uninterrupted administration of the institution,” the statement said.

The state government did not provide further details on the allegations against the rector but maintained that the action was necessary to safeguard the effective management of the polytechnic.

Efforts to reach Dr. Shinkafi for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing the report.
